The best of our shopping in August

When shopping is in your job description, it can be hard to reel in your excitement about the best thing you bought recently. Luckily, it’s the one time of the month we don’t have to!
As August (and the Aussie winter) draws to a close, we’re looking back at our favourite purchases in the last few weeks to clue you in on the things worth buying.
This time, the kitchen appliance brand Ninja was a standout, our team members invested in must-haves like headphones and air fryers, and one of us came up with a clever cleaning hack.

“I am obsessed with sorbets and gelato and have been looking for healthy alternatives to make at home. The Creami can make ice cream, smoothie bowls, sorbet, gelato and milkshakes, all you have to do is mix up your ingredients (you can go as healthy or indulgent as you like), freeze them overnight in the Creami containers and whack the containers into the Creami to be magically transformed into your dessert of choice. Although irritatingly noisy when it’s doing its thing I’ve recently perfected the most delicious (and healthiest) blueberry sorbet. Hit me up if you need the recipe.” – Carina
“I bought a pair of JBL Headphones (Tune 770NC) and I love them so much. I don’t know how I went so long without them. There’s an app that connects to the headphones with many control options, and they connect seamlessly to multiple devices. They’re also pretty good quality for the price I paid.” – Mikala
You can get this pair on sale on Amazon for just $164 now.
“I finally got an air fryer! The Ninja Foodi Max XXXL Dual Zone 9.5L Air Fryer on Amazon. It’s great! I still need to explore all the cooking options but so far I have made chips, veg chilli and even boiled eggs!” – Sarah
“This is bizarrely technical but I bought an adapter to use my 18V power tool batteries on the Dyson vacuum cleaner. The battery it comes with sucks, but now it has been supercharged.” – Stuart
“My skin was strange this winter, and I’ve had to peel back (sorry) my skincare routine to just a few products while it sorts itself out. I’ve been religiously using COSRX’s snail mucin products, but when I was finally confident enough to try something new I chose the Lacto Collagen Wrapping Mask from Medi-Peel. I love watching the women of TikTok peel their masks off, and I can confirm it’s even more satisfying when you do it yourself. The mask also leaves my skin looking glowy and hydrated.” – Erin
